Types of Credit Information Reports - Issued by CIB

1. Consumer Self-Inquiry-Report (Consumer-SIR):

Individual borrowers can view/access their credit reports (SIR) for the purpose of checking their own credit history, payment status on various credit facilities availed by them, and also to check the correctness and accuracy of other demographic information contained in the credit report.

To access/obtain Consumer SIR, individuals must approach the CIB Service Counter in person or contact CIB by mail/phone along with proof of personal identity. Access to SIR of any individual by any third person/party is subject to submission of a written consent/authorization from that individual borrower.

The price for the HIT reports (people who have availed loans before): Nu. 200
The price for the No-HIT reports: Nu. 100
If the report is generated from the Bank/Financial Institution, the prices are as follows;
Hit Report : Nu.300
No-Hit Report : Nu.100

2. Credit Outstanding Report (COR):

This report is a variation of the Consumer Credit Report and is generally availed by employees who resign, retire/superannuate, or proceed on long leave or separate from service for good for other reasons. This report is used by the employing agency to adjust any outstanding financial obligations due to that agency by the employee separating from office/service.

3. Commercial Self-Inquiry Report (Commercial-SIR):

Commercial entities can view/access their credit report (SIR) for the purpose of checking their credit history for the purpose of checking details of credit history, payment status, correctness/accuracy of information pertaining to the credit facilities or business loans availed by them. It provides details such as trade credit, outstanding debts, legal filings, securities pledged against the credit facility, and other financial transactions. It also includes other information such as the name of the business, TPN, Business License number, address etc.

In order to view/obtain Commercial SIR, one must approach the CIB Service Counter with a written authorization from the business entity concerned.

The price for the No-HIT reports: Nu. 300
If the report is generated from the Bank/Financial Institution, the prices are as follows;
Hit Report : Nu.300
No-Hit Report : Nu.100

4. Status Report on Non-performing Loans (NPL):

This report is generated by CIB based on request and information contents prescribed by the organizations/Agencies and include information specific to bad loans (NPL) which the borrowers have failed to repay within the specified period of 90 days or more. NPL Status Report is used by the Election Commission of Bhutan for gauging the financial discipline of prospective candidates aspiring to contest for election to National Assembly and National Council.
